December 14, 2007 - 45ft Line Handling Boats Delevered
NDI delevered two (2) line handling vessels being built for Moran Towing Corporation. The 45’ x 15’ all aluminum vessels are powered by (2) Volvo-Penta D9-425 hp engines, with Twin Disc 5082A 2.53:1 marine gears. With a free run speed of 15 knots and bollard pull in excess of 5 metric tons, these vessels were designed specifically for this service in house by NDI. Design criteria included maneuverability, economy, bollard pull and the ability to operate in moderate to heavy sea states and conditions. Additional equipment includes: 400 gallon fuel tank, an 8” sch 80 tow bitt, flush aft deck, prop and shaft guards and an enclosed pilot house with seating for operator and 6 crew members.
